Find a Dog
I find the perfect dog for you that complements your personality and lifestyle. I do the work so you don't have to.
You’re not just getting a dog. You’re choosing a partner, a companion, a family member. Let’s make sure it’s the right one.
I help you choose the dog that truly fits your life, your abilities, and your heart so you can avoid the overwhelm, steer clear of costly mistakes, and bring home the right dog with confidence.
If you’re here, it’s because you know this isn’t a small decision. The wrong breed, the wrong energy level, temperament, or size can turn your dream of a happy life with your dog into daily stress, frustration, or worse … heartbreak.
Maybe you’ve spent hours researching online. Maybe well-meaning friends, family, co-workers are offering advice, yet none of it feels clear or right. Maybe you’re lying awake at night wondering why something that seems so simple feels so overwhelming.
It’s not because you’re overthinking it. It’s because this decision matters.
I work with people who want to love their dog like I love mine. People who want to get this right from the start. Not by chance. Not by pressure. Not by settling.
I help you choose the breed that truly fits your life, your personality, your heart, and a dog you can safely handle. A dog you can live happily everafter with, and love fully from day one through the end of their days.
Whether you’re considering a reputable breeder or the right rescue dog, I help you make a choice that not only feels right but works in real life.
Because when it comes to finding the right dog, there’s no one-size-fits-all.
But there is the right fit for you.
Did you know 60% of adopted dogs get returned? Only one dog in ten born will ever find its forever home.
Most of the time, it’s not the dog’s fault—it’s because owners didn’t know what they were getting into.
- Wrong breed? It doesn’t fit your lifestyle.
- Puppy too much? You weren’t prepared for the energy.
- Health issues? You didn’t know what to ask the breeder.
I make sure this doesn’t happen to you. I match you with the right breed before you commit—so you never end up in a heartbreaking situation.

What You Get When You Work With Me
Clarity. Confidence. Peace of mind — so you can make the right choice for your life, not someone else’s opinion.
Finding the Right Breed – One that Truly Fits You
Forget the generic breed quizzes found on popular websites or the well-meaning advice of friends and family. My in-depth client profile goes beyond “what’s cute” or “what’s popular” and uncovers the real match for your lifestyle, energy, handling ability, and goals.
You won’t just get a list of breed names — you’ll understand why those breeds are right for you, and why others are not.
Matched with Ethical Breeders and Rescues You Can Trust
I help you avoid the heartbreak of backyard breeders, puppy mills, and online scams.
You’ll be introduced only to reputable breeders and trusted rescues who care as much about where their dogs go as you care about bringing the right one home.
I initiate contact, help facilitate introductions, and guide you through what to ask, what to expect, and how to spot red flags so you feel informed, prepared and respected throughout the process.
Puppy or Adult Dog? Make the Choice that’s Right for Your Life
It’s not always about starting with a puppy. Sometimes the best fit is an older dog with the temperament and training that suits your current season of life.
I help you weigh the pros and cons of both options, so your decision isn’t based on emotion alone, but on what will set you (and your future dog) up for success.
The True Cost of the Dog Ownership – No Surprises, No Regrets
Most owners spend 50–100% more on their dog than they originally expect. Breed rarity, breeder reputation, health testing, transportation, training, and grooming — these all affect price and availability.
I help you set realistic expectations for both the initial investment and the long-term care of your dog, including smart budgeting for food, vet care, grooming, supplies, and more.
Because loving your dog fully means being prepared for what ownership truly requires.
Bottom Line
I remove the guesswork, the overwhelm, and the costly mistakes — so you can focus on what matters most:
Bringing home the right dog for you, your family, and your future.
Support Beyond Adoption
Bringing a dog home isn’t the finish line -- it’s the start of your life together.
I help you prepare for the first days, weeks, and months so you and your dog get off to the best possible start.
Setup for Success Right from the Start
Choosing the right dog is only part of the story; preparing your home, your life, and your family for this next chapter is what makes the difference between daily frustration and a bond that lasts a lifetime.
I guide you through exactly what you need to know, expect, and do so you’re not caught off guard once your new companion arrives.
Home and Lifestyle Compatibility
It’s not just about puppy-proofing. It’s about designing your home and routine to support your dog’s well-being, from safe spaces to smart setups that make training and daily care easier for you and calmer for them.
Realistic Time and Commitment Planning
Together, we map out what daily life will look like with your dog — not just on the good days, but the hard ones, too.
Feeding, exercise, mental stimulation, grooming, training, and downtime are all aligned with your lifestyle and schedule, so your dog thrives without you feeling overwhelmed.
Family Integration so that Everyone is on the Same Page
Whether it’s a household of one or a full house with kids, seniors, or other pets, I help ensure that everyone understands their role, their responsibilities, and how to build trust with your new companion. Because a successful relationship takes teamwork.
Training, Boundaries and Socialization
The first weeks are critical. I provide guidance on setting clear boundaries, establishing routines, and supporting early training and socialization so your dog learns how to feel secure, confident, and well-mannered from day one.
Planning for the Long Haul
Dogs aren’t a short-term investment. They’re lifelong companions.
I help you plan for the future — from adolescent stages to adulthood, from health care to end-of-life considerations — so you’re not just prepared for the puppy stage, but for every season of life with your dog.
THE RESULT
With the right preparation, your home feels calm, your dog feels safe, and you feel confident that you made the right choice — not just on day one, but every day after.
What My Clients are Saying
What a few of my wonderful clients have shared…
“After speaking with Melanie at length, I am impressed with her knowledge, caring and dedication to coaching dog owners. She is wonderful and amazing! Highly recommend Melanie as your “go to person.'”

“Discovering someone deeply passionate about their work is truly inspiring, and Melanie embodies the epitome of this passion. Her unmistakable enthusiasm not only provided us with excellent guidance, but also encouraged us to explore our choices and expand our knowledge.”
“Blockmuse”
“I found Melanie through her YouTube channel, and was impressed by the fact that she really encouraged her viewers to think about the financial, practical and relational effects of having a dog before comitting. While I was apprehensive at first about hiring ‘some lady off the internet’, her experience and knowledge has been very helpful as a first time dog owner. I believe that my experience finding and preparing for a new four-legged family member would not have been as positive without her expert help and guidance.”
Laura B.
“We are a family with 3 kids. We have never had the company of any pet before. Needless to say, we parents and kids were very nervous around dogs.
As a family we decided that we wanted to cross that bridge for our kids sake, but had no clue whatsoever. So naturally we started with youtube videos.
While all the generic information was useful it quickly became clear that we needed to approach this with our unique situation in mind.
We are fans and followers of Melanie’s youtube channel and love her videos.
So we reached out to Melanie and that was the start of our pet journey.
Looking back I can confidently say, if not for Melanie, we would never have the blessing of a dog in our family today, period.
Right from the start, the communication, meetings, followup were extremely professional, structured, respectful and kind. Which we really appreciate.
Melanie put in a ton of effort in reviewing our personal situation, identifying and highlighting aspects that we ourselves didn’t realize, set our expectations right, while also working with us to identify the breed appropriate for our family.
Once we narrowed down on the breed, Melanie researched a list of ethical/professional breeders for the breed.
In my opinion, this is the most critical aspect of the process.
The nature of the breeder determines the nature of the dog and in turn the nature of your life experience with the dog.
We are extremely happy with the breeder Melanie found for us. She reviewed the breeder’s info with us in detail.
While the breeder brings a breeder’s perspective to the table, Melanie brings an owner’s perspective which is invaluable, as at the end of the day that is our role. So having Melanie to represent us during the discussions with the breeder was invaluable.
Once we identified the breeder, she helped with identifying the vet, groomer and also the list of essential setup that the puppy may need.
I can attest that we had a much peaceful and enjoyable transition to pet ownership and I have to attribute that experience to Melanie’s guidance and help. Very thankful for her help.
Overall, Melanie has been a wonderful blessing to our family.”
